Terms of Service

Somastreaming (“we”, “us”, or “the platform”) is a streaming service that turns Kenyan KCSE set books into cinematic films. By accessing somastreaming.co.ke, creating an account, or streaming any content, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

We license and stream film adaptations of prescribed set books in up to 4K quality, accessible on supported phones, tablets, computers, and smart TVs. Free trailers may be viewed without an account; full titles require sign-in and an active entitlement (see Section 4).

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Some accounts are provisioned by a school on behalf of a student — where that is the case, the school is responsible for the accuracy of the information it submits and for managing which students receive access.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, is used for unauthorized sharing, or is inactive for an extended period.

Access is sold in two ways: schools can subscribe to unlock a title, category, or the full catalogue for their students; individual students can pay per title. Payments made in Kenya are processed via M-Pesa. We do not store your M-Pesa PIN or full mobile money credentials — payments are handled directly by Safaricom’s payment infrastructure.

Prices are shown before you pay and may change from time to time; a change does not affect an entitlement you have already purchased. Entitlements are non-transferable between accounts.

Because access is granted immediately on successful payment, purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by Kenyan consumer protection law, or where a payment was taken in error. Contact us (Section 12) if you believe you were charged incorrectly.

You agree not to:

• Share your account or entitlement with people outside your household or school cohort;
• Download, record, rip, re-stream, or otherwise reproduce any film outside the player we provide;
• Circumvent playback protections, geographic restrictions, or entitlement checks;
• Use automated tools to scrape, mass-download, or overload the service; or
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

Films, artwork, and the Somastreaming name and logo are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Streaming access grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to view content for your own study — it does not transfer ownership of any underlying set book, screenplay, or film to you.

We add new titles regularly, but the catalogue, image quality, and streaming bitrate available to you may vary by device and network conditions. We may remove a title (for example if a licence expires) with reasonable notice where possible; if a title you have already paid for is removed, we will offer a credit or refund for that title.

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for a violation of Section 5, non-payment, or where required by law. Sections 6, 9, and 11 survive termination.

The service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free streaming, and we are not responsible for issues caused by your device, internet connection, or third-party networks.

To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, Somastreaming is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We will update the “last updated” date above, and material changes will be highlighted in the app. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
